The Latest: Egypt’s Coptic Church:’ Paris fire’loss’

Egypt’s Coptic Church has voiced”deep sadness” on the large blaze that burnt portions of the Notre Dame cathedral in Paris.

The head of Egypt’s Copts, Pope Tawadroz II, said in a statement that the flame was a”tremendous loss for whole humankind” and affected”one of the most important monuments on earth.”

The Foreign Ministry in Cairo also expressed”great regret and pain” over the flame, mentioning Notre Dame’s”historic and culture value” to get France and world legacy.


10:15 a.m.

Pope Francis is praying for French Catholics and the population”under the shock of the dreadful fire” which ravaged the Notre Dame cathedral.

Vatican spokesman Alessandro Gisotti said on Twitter on Tuesday that the pope”is close to France” and that he is providing prayers”for all those that are making an attempt to deal with this scenario .”

The Vatican on Monday expressed”shock and sadness” at the fire that caused extensive damage to a palace which is”a sign of Christianity from France and in the world”


10 a.m.

With two of France’s richest families together pledging 300 million euros funding for the renovation of Notre Dame is piling up at a rate.

His billionaire father Francois Pinault and businessman Francois-Henri Pinault said they immediately gave 100 million euros in their own company, Artemis, to assist fund repairs to the cathedral Monday night, devastated by fire.

A statement from Francois-Henri Pinault said:”This disaster affects all French people” and”everybody wishes to restore life as soon as possible for this jewel of our heritage.”

That contribution was subsequently trumped by French tycoon Bernard Arnault and his luxury goods.

LVMH called the cathedral a”symbol of France, its heritage and its motto.”


9:50 a.m.

European Union leader Donald Tusk is currently calling the bloc’s member nations to assist France reconstruct the fire-ravaged Notre Dame cathedral saying the site in Paris is a symbol of what binds Europe.

Tusk stated:”At stake here’s something more than just material assistance. The trimming of the Notre Dame cathedral has made us conscious that we’re bound with something more significant and more profound than treaties.”

Parliament President Antonio Tajani invited EU lawmakers to donate the salary of their day.


9:45 a.m.

A spokesman for Paris firefighters says that”the entire flame is out” in Notre Dame cathedral.

Plus stated that now the fire is outside”this phase is to get the experts” to plan the way to consolidate the edifice. 


9:10 a.m.

A statement Tuesday from LVMH said the luxury goods set and also the Arnault household would make the contribution to the palace, which had been consumed by flames.

LVMH called the cathedral a”symbol of France, its heritage and its motto.”

The sooner 100 million-euro donation of the Pinault family was widely reported by media.

A cultural heritage specialist says France no longer has trees large enough to replace ancient beams that burnt from the Notre Dame fire.

Vice president of preservation group Fondation du Patrimoine, bertrand de Feydeau, told France Info radio was constructed with beams from primal woods.

Talking Tuesday, he said the Ocean’s roof cannot be rebuilt just as it had been before the fire as”we don’t, at the moment, have trees on our territory of the size which were cut at the 13th century”

He explained the restoration work is going to have to use new technology to reconstruct the roof.

Pros are currently assessing the shell of Paris’ Notre Dame Studio that is iconic to set following measures to conserve what remains after a devastating fire destroyed a lot of the building that is almost 900-year-old.

With the fire that broke out Monday evening and quickly absorbed the cathedral currently attention is turning to ensuring the integrity of the building that is remaining.

Junior Interior Minister Laurent Nunez announced that architects and other experts would meet at the cathedral early Tuesday”to learn whether the arrangement is stable and if the firefighters can proceed indoors to continue their job.”

Officials consider that the fire an crash, this news has done nothing to still the national mourning, although possibly as a consequence of restoration work occurring at the international architectural treasure.
